Parliament of the World’s Religions

In the effort to bring greater peace and harmony to the world, one of the movements or organisations that is closely involved in doing that is the Parliament of the World’s Religions.

It’s something I’ve wanted get a closer awareness of for a while now, both for myself and my own interests, and to share with you and others through Papillon/Whole Life Whole World, so that we can see what things can actually work and can make a difference.

Now we have a great opportunity to do just that, as our colleagues at EnlightenNext have invited us – and you – to follow their blog from the Parliament this December.

A small team from EnlightenNext are joining “more than 10,000 religious leaders, scholars, and activists from all over the world convening in Melbourne, Australia, from December 3–9, to explore the role that the religious traditions will play in addressing a variety of contemporary issues, from climate change to the reconciliation of science and religion.”

They add;

“Participating in the event will provide us an opportunity to not only meet and learn from the other incredible leaders and teachers present but to contribute our own ideas about Evolutionary Spirituality to the inquiry.

“This event has a rich history stretching back to the original Parliament held in Chicago in 1893 which famously introduced the great Indian sage Swami Vivekananda to the West. In 1993, the one-hundredth anniversary was held, again in Chicago, and they have continued to hold these events every five years since then.”

James BlackerPehraps many of you would like to join me in adding more weight of consciousness to the event and the effort, and that we can lend our support from here for something that is addressing a vital cog in the machinery of creating a better and healthy world.

Best wishes,

James Blacker
