Personal Development and Global and Cultural Change

Papillon Human Potential“If you can see your own mind and its wondrous intricacies as a tool that is yours to shape and nurture and define, then you can manage it in order to integrate it with the body! This conclusion has led me to define ‘The 1-2-3 of Health’, whereby step one is listening to the body, step two is distinguishing the difference between the needs of the mind and the needs of the body, and step three is actually having—or developing—the capacity of self-mastery to actually make that awareness count, and take the right action.” – James Blacker

Dear Friends,

Rather coincidentally, Gary and I have both had articles published in this March’s edition of Integral Leadership Review in America.

It’s an online magazine, so you can read the articles yourself for free by following the links below.

Whilst it is titled as about The Model of Personal Development and Global Change, my article is really about what Papillon and Whole life Whole World is all about, and The Model is really a starting point for that. As I was writing it for another organisation, I had a chance to think about it from a perspective I hadn’t written for before, so if you want to read it it’s a great way to get a feel for what our community is really all about.

You can click here to read that;

“The first principle is about freedom and self-acceptance of where and how one is in the moment, which simply amounts to not fighting against oneself and one’s true nature.”

Gary’s article is about his time last week at The Integral Incubator in Boulder, where he worked intensively on his own personal integral project, with a group of 21 others all doing likewise, and his experiences with the renowned Integral Philosopher, Ken Wilber. You may remember the quotes from last time. This article is also a great insight into how that workshop was run, and to the kind of thinking that goes on in such circles.

Click here to read that article;

“And witness people did, with a depth and passion and joy. For a moment as each person offered their speech I was lit up as they lit up, I felt alive as they felt alive.

“What did 5 days in the Incubator reveal for me? I realised that I need to make connection. I need to have a strong community that keeps challenging me to offer my best, not because I want to be the best but because I want to help others to grow. I realised that the project I am working on is me.”
